As I work on a bespoke basis, every treatment experience is unique to each individual person. I now offer booking therapy time, rather than specific treatments, this allows for a very personal tailor-made therapy journey and clients can expect to experience some or all of the following modalities depending on their requirements:
Sound healing, massage, face therapies, acupressure, shiatsu, reflexology, hot stone therapy, lymphatic work, reiki and craniosacral therapy.
30 minutes – £40:00
60 minutes – £65:00
90 minutes – £95:00
120 minutes – £125:00
There are only a few spaces left in December before I close for the Christmas break, so please do get in touch if you want to book some deeply relaxing and healing downtime!
Adding different experiences to my therapies is very important to me, as I believe that to engage as many senses as possible throughout a treatment ritual, lifts it from a ‘nice’ treatment to something other-wordly. I want to offer an experiential journey that is remembered long after the treatment has finished, one that encompasses as much holistic expression as possible. Using sound therapy helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state from beta (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness) and even reach theta (mediative state) and delta (sleep: where internal healing can occur).
Sound helps create the pathway to this place of stillness the same as a mantra helps you to arrive at the still point of meditation. Various tools used for sound therapy include the voice, drums, Himalayan or Crystal Singing Bowls, tuning forks or Koshi Bells.
The Koshi bell or chime is my tool of choice. Crafted in a workshop at the foot of the Pyrenean mountains, eight chords are welded with silver at the base of a resonance tube made of bamboo, a material renowned for its acoustic quality, the Koshi chime is deep in sound and rich in overtones. There are four melodies, Terra (earth), Aqua (water), Aria (air) and Ignis (fire). I have chosen Aria, or air as I enjoyed this sound the most, and I use it either at the beginning or conclusion of each bespoke treatment.
Treatment room goals…Looks inviting don’t you think? But, spending time on a massage couch does more than just offer an hour or so of relaxation in a beautiful space. Massage is the healing power of touch from knowledgable hands of a skilled therapist bringing about a whole plethora of benefits to both psychological and physiological wellbeing. Relieving stress and reducing anxiety, helping release fibromyalgia and adhesions, soothing tension headaches and helping us to sleep better. Massage can relieve symptoms of depression, improve cardiovascular health and reduce the pain of osteoarthritis.
In 2017, the Cornwall-based Made For Life Foundation saw a need for those living with cancer to be welcomed into spas rather than seen as a contra-indicated client who needed a GP referral letter. The foundation designed and launched a fully accredited 3 day Cancer Touch Therapy training course. This advanced course enabled qualified beauty and massage therapists to gain a deeper understanding of what cancer is, the staging and grading of cancer and how treatments for cancer can affect the need to adapt spa therapies. A game-changer in the wellness stakes when one is needing all the comfort and support out there in what must be one of the most challenging times of life. Boutique Wellbeing at Ash Cottage is just 5 miles from the beautiful town of Woodstock, located in the heart of the Cotswolds. A rural retreat that offers bespoke natural therapies, a perfectly unique and indulgent gift for Christmas or any special occasion.
It may be small and bijoux, but my cosy little therapy room, tucked away in the eaves of Ash Cottage delivers wellbeing in abundance for those looking to retreat away for an hour or two and experience healing, soul soothing treatments.
During my treatments I teach my clients how to breathe deeply into the abdomen, this technique has been proven to quieten the mind, detox the cells and release tension throughout the whole of the body. I also use sound healing through each session; sound waves are the medicine of the future, with oscillating vibrations running through each organ, tissue and cell. The power of touch enhanced by using a beautiful edit of curated, holistic skincare, full of wild crafted essential oils, probiotics and crystals takes my bespoke facials and body therapy to a higher state of wellness…
