World Reflexology Week 2018

reflexologist

Reflexology is a wonderful therapy. It feels profoundly relaxing and, when used in the right way, can help the body recover from a wide range of conditions.

It is one of the oldest forms of complementary therapy with roots in ancient Eygpt, China & India.  It is based on the theory that there are micro-systems on the feet, hands and face that connect to all aspects of our bodies. By massaging specific points on the feet, hands or face, one can affect corresponding parts of the body. Amazing!

A Reflexologist feels for areas of sensitivity or deposits on the feet, hands or face that indicate potential weaknesses and causes of problems in the body. By massaging through these areas, it is possible to help the body recover.

To celebrate ‘World Reflexology Week’ I am offering a course of 4 Reflexology treatments for the price of 3!  The sessions should ideally be taken once a week and full payment for the full course of treatments (£120, saving of £40) is due upon initially booking.  Please get in touch if you are interested as spaces are limited!

Little Boutique Retreat

It may be small and bijoux, but my cosy little therapy room, tucked away in the eaves of Ash Cottage delivers wellbeing in abundance for those looking to retreat away for an hour or two and experience healing, soul soothing treatments.

During my treatments I teach my clients how to breathe deeply into the abdomen, this technique has been proven to quieten the mind, detox the cells and release tension throughout the whole of the body.   I also use sound healing through each session; sound waves are the medicine of the future, with oscillating vibrations running through each organ, tissue and cell.  The power of touch enhanced by using a beautiful edit of curated, holistic skincare, full of wild crafted essential oils, probiotics and crystals takes my bespoke facials and body therapy to a higher state of wellness…

Holistic therapies in the Cotswolds

Therapies by Julie Brown

Face

Express Face Treatment                      £25/30 min

Working with a beautiful collection of highly effective luxurious skincare packed full of antioxidants, probiotics and skin-loving properties of plants, herbs and flowers.  A perfect mini treatment ideal for those short of time, or as an additional therapy after a longer body treatment.

The Deep Sleep Face Treatment        £65/75 min

Incorporating de Mamiel’s renowned Sleep Series, a collection of high performance formulations to restore quality sleep, this slow paced face therapy is deeply soothing and sedative.  Includes facial acupressure point and lymphatic massage, soothing eye and scalp massage and breath work to quieten the mind.

The Wellbeing Face Treatment.         £50/60 min

A bespoke face therapy that addresses individual concerns, techniques range from steaming and extraction work to specific muscle lifting and toning techniques to firm facial contours.  This facial really is wellbeing for the skin and soul, using a curated edit of the most exclusive skincare brands to ensure optimum results.

Body

Deep Connection Body Massage        £55/60 min

Many of my clients say this is their ‘must have’ monthly reset.  A deep, thorough and highly remedial body therapy that works over areas of tension, stress and fatigue, and embraces a true connection both physically and energetically.  Using breath work, passive stretching and sound healing, this treatment is given from the heart and remains the number one ‘most booked’ therapy.

Aromatherapy Massage                       £65/75 min

Tailoring a bespoke blend of essential oils specific to individual needs, this slow, soothing, soporific massage engages all of the senses in one sublime treatment.  A longer therapy time ensures total relaxation and sleep often ensues before it’s completed!  Addressing a multitude of ailments, the powerful properties of clinical grade essential oils work to aid healing from within.

Hot Stone Therapy                                £70/90 min

A most indulgent therapy, I use smooth, flat, heated basalt stones to enhance the healing effects of massage on the whole body.  Hot stone therapy is a very holistic and sensory experience as the stones are positioned along your spine, in the palms of your hands, along the legs and between the toes.  Basalt stones have a rich iron content that retains heat and are formed from lava that flowed to the Earth’s surface millions of years ago.  Over time this lava has been shaped into stones made exceptionally smooth by water flow, as they are typically sourced from river beds.

Back, Face and Scalp Therapy            £75/90 min

A beautiful integration of a back, neck and shoulder massage, express face treatment and deep scalp massage completes this holistic ritual for total wellbeing.

Reflexology                                            £40/60 min

My favourite treatment to receive, reflexology is an extremely relaxing complementary therapy that focuses on treating the entire body through acupressure of the feet.  Reflexology triggers the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing anxiety, stopping the fight-or-flight response, and letting the body heal.  The aim of reflexology is to create homeostasis, which means that the organs in the body are all working together and functioning at their best.

Indian Head Massage                           £25/30 min

Working through the clothes, this therapy is given while you are seated and focuses on the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck and the facial pressure points.  The tradition of head massage is most commonly found in the barbershops of India, with head massage therapy having its own importance in Indian society and has been a family tradition in the continents of Asia for over many centuries.

Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage        £35/30 min

Working over the often ‘hyper tense’ musculature of the back, shoulders and neck, this shorter, intensive treatment includes deep tissue work, myofascial release and passive stretching to release stress, tension and alleviate knotted muscle pain.

Hands & Feet

Luxury Pedicure                                   £40/60 min

An indulgent treat for the feet that includes a hot bubble soak, mint and eucalyptus salt and oil scrub, pumice work for parched heels, nail filing and cuticle tidy, soothing foot mask, deep relaxing pressure point massage and application of colour or nail conditioner to finish.

Express Pedicure                                  £25/30 min

A mini foot beautifier for those short of time.  Foot soak and scrub, nail clipping, mini massage and application of colour or conditioner to finish.

Luxury Manicure                                  £35/60 min

An indulgent treat for the hands that includes a hand and nail soak, nail filing and cuticle conditioning, a nourishing skin mask, deep relaxing pressure point massage and application of Essie colour or conditioner to finish.

Express Manicure                                 £20/30 min

A mini hand treatment for those short of time.  Nail shape, cuticle work, mini massage, application of colour or nail conditioner to finish.
