Hello everyone, I haven’t written an update on here for ages, opting to send emails out to my database and a few posts on Instagram instead over these past few months. But today I wanted to write a short note to say hello to all my lovely clients and followers on various social channels and upload a few pictures of what I have been up to since my girls stopped going to school and life as we know it turned upside down!
I know we are all feeling the same, some days are better than others for me. Homeschooling my 6 year old twin daughters has brought me near to tears on occasion, especially now the novelty has worn off having ‘Mrs Brown’ as their new charge came into force. But, I draw on my strength and mettle and try to turn things around in my head and heart, knowing that ‘this too shall pass’ and one day we will look back and talk about the time the world slowed down. Spring is in full flow, the sounds and sights of nature surrounding Ash Cottage really do take my breath away. I feel so lucky to be able to go off for a run or nature ramble with my girls without seeing a soul for miles… Social distancing at its finest.
I do however, miss giving my treatments. My little therapy room has now been converted into an office for my husband and I to use for the time being. I get so much positivity on an energetic and emotional level when connecting in therapy with people. To not be able to offer and hold space for someone is affecting me more that I thought it ever would.
I hope to be open again in a few months but until then I am going to post some self care and wellbeing tips and messages to help get us through these challenging times…
Treatment room goals…Looks inviting don’t you think? But, spending time on a massage couch does more than just offer an hour or so of relaxation in a beautiful space. Massage is the healing power of touch from knowledgable hands of a skilled therapist bringing about a whole plethora of benefits to both psychological and physiological wellbeing. Relieving stress and reducing anxiety, helping release fibromyalgia and adhesions, soothing tension headaches and helping us to sleep better. Massage can relieve symptoms of depression, improve cardiovascular health and reduce the pain of osteoarthritis.
In 2017, the Cornwall-based Made For Life Foundation saw a need for those living with cancer to be welcomed into spas rather than seen as a contra-indicated client who needed a GP referral letter. The foundation designed and launched a fully accredited 3 day Cancer Touch Therapy training course. This advanced course enabled qualified beauty and massage therapists to gain a deeper understanding of what cancer is, the staging and grading of cancer and how treatments for cancer can affect the need to adapt spa therapies. A game-changer in the wellness stakes when one is needing all the comfort and support out there in what must be one of the most challenging times of life. So, celebrate this amazing age-old therapy and book some regular couch-time, regular investment for your health and wellbeing, not just for an annual spa day treat.
A Gift of Wellness… Imagine if you could wrap up a parcel of good health, send an envelope filled with relaxation, or courier a box full of nurturing intention, to a much loved family member or a very special friend.
Well now you can, as I have just launched ‘A Gift of Wellness’ treatment vouchers. A beautifully designed and well presented gift card that can be used for any of the therapies offered at Boutique Wellbeing, from a Deep Sleep Face Treatment, Deep Connection Body Massage to a Luxury Manicure or Reflexology.
Boutique Wellbeing at Ash Cottage is just 5 miles from the beautiful town of Woodstock, located in the heart of the Cotswolds. A rural retreat that offers bespoke natural therapies, a perfectly unique and indulgent gift for Christmas or any special occasion.
Reflexology is a wonderful therapy. It feels profoundly relaxing and, when used in the right way, can help the body recover from a wide range of conditions.
It is one of the oldest forms of complementary therapy with roots in ancient Eygpt, China & India. It is based on the theory that there are micro-systems on the feet, hands and face that connect to all aspects of our bodies. By massaging specific points on the feet, hands or face, one can affect corresponding parts of the body. Amazing!
A Reflexologist feels for areas of sensitivity or deposits on the feet, hands or face that indicate potential weaknesses and causes of problems in the body. By massaging through these areas, it is possible to help the body recover.
To celebrate ‘World Reflexology Week’ I am offering a course of 4 Reflexology treatments for the price of 3! The sessions should ideally be taken once a week and full payment for the full course of treatments (£120, saving of £40) is due upon initially booking. Please get in touch if you are interested as spaces are limited!
I’m delighted that Boutique Wellbeing will be part of an amazing 3 day retreat at Poundon House this September! It will be the first time working with Alicia Roscoe, owner of Poundon, yoga teacher, conscious events curator of @andsister_yoga and ambassador for Lulu Lemon. I will be offering an eclectic mix of my bespoke healing therapies for a total immersion of mind, body and skin wellbeing, using #demamiel. @demamielskin ・・・
